Monthly Benefice Services

Benefice services are arranged on a monthly rota basis, giving each of the four Churches an opportunity for a Sunday Common Worship (CW) Holy Communion at 10.30 am in the order: Meonstoke, first Sunday, Droxford, second Sunday, Corhampton third Sunday and Exton on the fourth Sunday.  On the first Sunday, where possible, there is also an 18.30 BCP Evensong at Exton.  In addition, at Droxford, there is a third Sunday Informal Service at 10.00 and a regular said communion service at 10.00 am on Thursday mornings.  Corhampton services can alternate between CW communion and Mattins.  When there is a Mattins, a communion service is held earlier, ay at 09.00 at Exton.

Music

Music in our main services tends to be traditional, though we do sometimes use slightly more
modern material.

There is a small, committed and enthusiastic choir which is boosted for the major festivals. We
have three regular organists. Occasionally we are supported by the Meon Valley Band.

Parochial Church Councils

The individual parishes each have a separate PCC and they meet to manage their parish finances,
the fabric and special events. We have quarterly joint PCC meetings and a joint APCM.

The Wider Church

The Meon Bridge Benefice is in the Bishop’s Waltham Deanery, in the Diocese of Portsmouth.

For what’s on in Portsmouth Cathedral, go to the What’s on page of the Cathedral Website; events range from all Sunday and weekday services, choral and other music concerts, and talks.
